About IMPACT Youth Ministries...
The United Methodist Youth meets in the Family Life Center on Sundays from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m., except during the summer months. There are small groups to help kids share their thoughts and get close, recreational activities, a meal, and special programs, too. The group has a newsletter, sent monthly to participants in the youth program.
The UMY plans annual Missions Trips every summer to help those in need. These trips can literally change a young person’s life, teaching them about helping people less fortunate than they. This year we have projects for Middle and Senior Highs!
Sunday School Classes are offered for Middle Highs and Senior Highs from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m. The classes are located in the Youth Wing of the Family Life Center.
Missions are a huge part of what we do! There are may opportunities offered throughout the year, including Box City, Relay for Life, Day of Caring, etc.
Are you the crafty type? Our banner-making group makes beautiful banners to be used in church worship services. It meets Sunday afternoons. Call Jayne Pawelek at 704 - 219-8216 for more information.
Youth participate in the Chrysalis spiritual development retreat. Contact LeeAnn if you're interested.
Want to go fishing? We have a group that meets once a month to do just that! Call Ken Neese at 704 - 289 - 6070
Sunday Lunch: Meet at the "teen center" Sundays at noon to go out to lunch with your friends every other Sunday we're not cooking! Bring $ and plan to stay for Youth at 1:30 p.m.
The Youth also plan and lead an impressive Youth Worship Service annually. It involves almost every aspect of the youth program, from music groups to dance and puppetry. And our high school seniors deliver great sermons, too!
And of course, we offer lots of summer activities as well, including pool parties, visits to water parks, baseball games, the skating rink, bowling, and much, much more! Call LeeAnn if you need more info.
Central United Methodist Church has a Safe Sanctuaries Policy to protect our youth and the people who work with them. To read it click here.
